Winter stroll in the woods !
It is possible to do a cross-country skiing outing even if you are in a wheelchair! The skiers are seated in the sledge, under which is attached a pair of skis. The skis are almost identical as regular skis, but shorter and are fixed to the sledge by cross-country ski fasteners.
The skiers simply move forward by using two poles, and the trick is done !
The Skieurs de l’Ile and the Notre-Dame-de-Fatima Centre, in collaboration with the municipalities of Pincourt, Notre-Dame-de-L`Ile and Ile-Perrot, are proud to announce that an adapted cross-country ski sledge (Paranordic sledge) will be available to schools participating in the Skieurs de l’Ile educational project and is available at the Notre-Dame-de-Fatima Centre this Winter.
